Blues blow ’em away! Chichester chalk up an impressive win on the road

Chichester RFC turned in a hard-fought display to earn a 36-30 victory at Sutton & Epsom in Saturday’s London & SE Division National League 3 encounter.

The Blues gained their third consecutive win, first double of the season and a bonus point; the final margin was 6 tries and 3 conversions to 3 converted tries and 3 penalties. The excellent home scrum half Munford kicked all his 6 kicks from the tee. But the win came at a price.

Chichester, who were without without Jak Evans and Taff Davies, suffered an injury blow when young flanker Alex Grace went to hospital early on with ankle damage.

The 5 points moved them up one place in the league and they are hard on the heels of both Guildford and Sutton, the latter having to be satisfied with a losing bonus.

Next week Chichester travel for another crucial game at Southend, their first ever visit to the Essex club. All support welcome and room on the team coach.

Chichester Squad: Deavall, Arden-Brown, Vadei, Blount, Davies, Grace, Bentall (capt.), Johnson, Anscombe, Adams, Seaman, Gray, Renwick, Robson, Maslen, Veltom, Dickin and Woodhouse.
