Kind-hearted Chichester firefighters will be dishing out presents at St Richard’s Hospital as they spread the festive spirit this season. And they are asking for your help to do so.
Crews will be visiting the wards on December 19 to meet patients and deliver gifts to those staying in hospital over the Christmas period. To support the initiative they are appealing for donations that can be given on the day.
In addition to the appeal, crews will also be “pedalling for presents” on December 2. The event will see firefighters doing a charity bike ride at Chichester Tesco between 10am-2pm in a bid to encourage more present donations on the day.
Watch Manager and event organiser, Duncan Warwood, said: “We’re honoured to support such a worthy cause over this festive period.
“Christmas is a time meant for spreading joy and happiness, and we’re asking the local community to help us in doing this. If anyone has any new or unwrapped gifts that they’re willing to donate – the presents can benefit anyone, no matter their age – we’d be extremely grateful and it could help brighten someone’s day.”
To donate your gifts, please call 01243 753440 or drop them off at the Chichester Fire Station directly. Alternatively, email [email protected] to arrange collection by Monday 18th December.
