Rutherford urges Chichester City to maintain challenge at the top ahead of Worthing clash

Chichetser City Football Club

Chichester City boss Miles Rutherford will ask his player to “go again” when they host Worthing United in the SCFL Premier Division at Oaklands Park on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

Rutherford will be keen to keep the momentum going for the home clash following a 2-2 draw at Crawley Down Gatwick last weekend.

City succumbed to an 89th minute leveller after leading twice through goals from Scott Jones (43) and Ellis Martin (78).

The point gained means City sit in third spot in the table, six points behind second-placed Haywards Heath, who have 60 points, but with two games in hand.

Shoreham are currently topping the table with 61 points and also have two game in hand over their nearest challengers.

Elsewhere, Selsey, who currently sit mid-table in division one, are at home to Storrington on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bosham continue to tussle with local rivals Sidlesham at the top of division two. The Robins top the table with 50 points having played a game more than the Sids, who have 44 points. They go to Westfield this weekend, while Sidlesham travel to Montpellier Villa.
