Chichester University vice-chancellor Jane Longmore has welcomed the latest league table results which show a jump of 10 places and heralded them as “a great credit to all of our hard-working staff”.
The university has moved up the league table to rank 72nd in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.
High scores in the National Student Survey this year are responsible for this climb ‘combined with a strong track record in rankings’ according to the Guide.
Teaching quality has also improved, up to 13th place from 27th last year, while student experience has risen to 17th from 40th.
Chichester was ranked University of the Year for Student Retention in both 2014 and 2017 and awarded silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework by an independent panel for ‘a student experience tailored to the individual, maximising the rate of retention, attainment and progression’.
The Guide is one of the most authoritative and widely respected guides to universities in the UK and is an essential and comprehensive tool for students and parents at home and abroad.
It ranks 129 UK institutions according to nine criteria including teaching quality, student experience, completion rates, degree results and graduate prospects.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Longmore welcomed the latest league table result and said: “Our jump of ten places in today’s Sunday Times League Table is a great credit to all of our hard-working staff, and yet another indication of the outstanding quality of the student experience at Chichester.”
