Making great strides! Walkers put best foot forward to raise money for advice agencies

Legal Walk

Walkers took charitable matters in their stride and put their best foot forward to raise money for advice agencies in Chichester.

Around 100 people stepped out for a 10k event for the Chichester Legal Walk intended to raise much-needed funds for advice agencies in the city, and across West Sussex and Havant.

Walkers from local mental health charity Coastal West Sussex Mind (CWSM) joined teams from Citizens Advice, solicitors, magistrates, chartered legal executives, and others for the walk from The Fountain pub, South Street, out through the countryside and back.

The aim was to raise money to provide legal advice to people in poverty and distress in West Sussex, where there are areas of need and many vulnerable people.

CWSM trustee and magistrate Buddhi Vinitharatne said: “Our team from(CWSM joined the Chichester Legal Walk this year as we have a partnership with Citizens Advice to offer advice to people with mental health issues. Everyone on the walk had the intention of supporting vulnerable people across West Sussex.

“It was also a good chance to enjoy the countryside, the camaraderie and have some interesting discussions.”

Other teams on the walk included Anderson Rowntree, Churchers, Irwin Mitchell, MacDonald Oates, Monan Gozzett Solicitors, Pallant Chambers, Single Parents Support, SMR Solicitors, Sussex Legal Services, Swain and Co Solicitors, The Property Search Group and Verisona Law.
