A new monthly support group has launched in Chichester to provide a dedicated space for women living with ovarian cancer. Founded by 71-year-old resident Georgie Pearson-Gee, the initiative is the first peer-to-peer support network of its kind in the South region outside of London.

The group, which officially launched in September 2026, is based at CancerWise on Bognor Road. It aims to bridge a gap in local provision for those diagnosed with the disease, offering a community for patients to share experiences and reduce the isolation often felt after a diagnosis.

A personal mission

Mrs Pearson-Gee was inspired to start the group following her own experience with the condition. She was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer in March 2022 and identified a need for a specific local network where patients could connect with others facing the same health challenges.

Meeting details and activities

Meetings are held on a monthly basis at the CancerWise centre. In addition to peer support and conversation, future sessions are planned to include structured activities designed to support patient wellbeing, including:

  • Arts and crafts sessions
  • Mindfulness workshops
  • General wellbeing workshops

Practical information for attendees

The group is open to those living with ovarian cancer in the Chichester area and the wider region. There is no requirement for a specific hospital referral to attend.

Venue: CancerWise, 9-10 Dukes Court, Bognor Road, Chichester, PO19 8FX.
