The Role of Stadium Ownership
The decision to drop Macklemore appears to have been influenced by a coalition of venue owners. Macklemore has alleged that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft mobilized stadium stakeholders to issue an ultimatum to Sheeran’s camp, effectively threatening the tour’s access to key North American venues if the rapper remained on the bill.
