Fund-raisers can get in their stride and run for fun next month to boost the coffers of Chichester’s St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Organisers of the forthcoming “bubble rush” will see hundreds of people pull on their trainers to run through a wall of bubbles and help raise cash for the hospice.

The four-kilometre run, which takes place on Saturday 2nd September at Chichester High School from 11am, will have four colour-bubble stations along the way.

Each station is equipped with a huge foam cannon which shoots out coloured foam. The event is open to families, keen runners or those who just want to have fun.

Live entertainment and children’s activities will also be available on the day, which costs £25 for adults and £7.50 for children.

A spokesman explains: “Bubble rush is a fun run with a difference – it features lots of coloured bubbles! The course starts in a sea of bubbles and features four bubble stations along the route where our cannons pump out coloured bubbles.

“Every course is family friendly, so you can run, jog, walk or toddle through the foam. You can even dance if you want to! The most important thing is that you enjoy your time in the bubbles!”

The event is sponsored by South Downs Water. A message on the company’s Twitter feed said: “South Downs Water‏ @SouthDownsWater are looking forward to our second year of supporting this fantastic event. Terrific fun for a fabulous local charity.”
