Hannah Mcilwrath is in for a close shave when she allows her lovely long locks to be be cut…but it’s all for worthy causes.

For Hannah is preparing to have her tresses, last measured at 19 inches long, to be scissored to raise money for charities including Chichester’s St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

The fund-raising event takes place on July 9 at Pond Barn Sports Bar & Carvery, Bracklesham, and will see Hannah shorn, plus entertainment will be provided in the form of live music as well as food served and a raffle on the night.

Hannah explained: “The hair is coming off! I am really hoping for all your support to raise lots of money for charity as I will chopping my locks off and sending them to the Prince’s Trust. Along side this it would be wonderful to have raise at least £2,000 to send to charity and support all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

“I would like to be able to share to total raised between three differing charities including St Wilfrid’s, the Snowdrop Children’s Trust and the RNLI.

“All three have worked alongside friends and loved ones of mine and have helped people through incredibly tough and emotional times. Living by the sea makes the RNLI a great cause as they only receive funding via legacies or donations.

“They do such amazing work and they need our support. I am not working directly with these charities but will inform them of the event and hopefully pass on a lovely donation amount!”
