Santa and his reindeer have once again found time to support The Sussex Snowdrop Trust by hosting a family fundraising day. And we have secured an exclusive interview with Father Christmas himself ahead of the fun-filled festive event.

The yuletide crew will be at Russells Garden and Lifestyle Centre in Birdham on Sunday 26 November, 10am – 3pm for a Santa & Antlers event. It includes the chance to visit Santa, Mrs Claus and Elsie the Elf in the grotto, as well as two of the magical sleigh-pullers. Adding festive cheer will be local choirs, a grand raffle and a magic session with everyone’s favourite magician, Nick Clark.

Lesley Phillips from Russells said: “We raise funds for lots of local charities throughout the year and the Snowdrop Trust, a charity that looks after very poorly children and their families, is especially close to our hearts. Previous Christmas events have raised lots of money for the charity and we hope this year will be our best ever.”

Reindeer Russells

In an exclusive interview, Santa told Chichester News: “Ho ho ho! I am so looking forward to returning to Russells. I am delighted to champion the wonderful work of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust and I do hope that local children will come along and say hello.

“They will all receive a gift and I will be taking care to ensure that my ‘good’ list is up to date. Russells is famous for its winter wonderland display, so visitors will also be able to do some Christmas shopping. I must remember to pick out something special for my good lady.”

There is no advance booking required for visiting Santa in his grotto. £5 per child, all proceeds will go directly to The Sussex Snowdrop Trust. There is no charge for accompanying adults or babies under a year old. Each paid for child will receive a gift.

Nick Clarke’s magic show will take place at 11am and 12.30 pm. There is no charge for the show, or for meeting the reindeer, but donations to The Sussex Snowdrop Trust are welcome.
