St Wilfrid’s Hospice chief Alison Moorey and friends brought a splash of colour to Chichester ahead of the fun-packed bubble rush charity fundraiser.

Hundreds of charitable souls will boost the coffers of the city hospice. Bubbles will be burst and hilarity will ensue come Saturday and would-be funsters were encouraged to take part when tutu-clad chief executive officer Alison was joined by supporters to raise awareness for the event.

And runners will have bundles of laughs as they hot-foot it along a four-kilometre route on Saturday at Chichester High School, from 11am.

The event is being sponsored by Southdown Water Company; a business that is no stranger to supporting events in and around the area. They have also backed the Children on the Edge Chichester Half marathon, and this is the second time they have sponsored the bubble rush jamboree.

The company’s business development manager, Amanda Duqeunoy, said: “It’s terrific fun for a fabulous local charity. It’s incredibly important to be supportive and we get involved in various events throughout the year. Our ethos is love local, support local; it is absolutely crucial that we give back to our local area.”

The run sees participants complete the route with huge foam cannon shooting out coloured foam along the way. The event is open to families, keen runners or simply those who fancy a giggle.

Live entertainment and children’s activities will also be available on the day, which costs £25 for adults and £7.50 for children.

“Bubble rush is a fun run with a difference – it features lots of coloured bubbles!” adds a spokesman. “The course starts in a sea of bubbles. The course is family friendly, so you can run, jog or walk through the foam. You can even dance if you prefer! The most important thing is that you enjoy your time in the bubbles!”
