Fun, frolics and face-painting! Free community day promises to be a lot of laughs

Fun, frolics and face-painting are just some of the japes to be had at a planned free event in the Kingsham housing estate.

Members of Grace Church, Chichester, have organised the event for Saturday, May 27, at 11am until 2pm.

There will be a small arena with demonstrations by local community groups and clubs, kids craft activities, bouncy castles, live music, games stalls, cakes, a barbecue, soft drinks, a raffle, and lots more.

Organsier Rachel Johnson said: “This is an area of Chichester which is usually neglected and overlooked, and so we really wanted to bless them by putting on a fun day which will all be totally free.

“Many local clubs and organisations have come together to offer their services, or donate prizes for the raffle, free of charge. The event is unique in the sense there is no charge for anything on the day, including all food and drinks.”

Rachel says she expects a healthy turn-out. A similar event in Bognor Regis was staged last year, at which around 2,000 people attended.
