Write on the money! Author Carol and Chindi members set to raise charity funds at festival

Chindi At Arundel

Carol Thomas, a prominent member of the Chichester-based Chindi Authors group, is spearheading a Cancer Research UK charity fundraising campaign to coincide with the Arundel Festival.

Carol, author of contemporary romance Crazy Over You and children’s book Finding a Friend, and her Chindi colleagues will run a book stall outside the Cancer Research charity shop in the High Street.

Books will be sold every day throughout the festival, when the town comes alive with art, music, food stands, dancers and lots of colourful celebrations, between August 19-28.

And Carol says they hope to beat the £300 raised at last year’s event. Carol, a regular volunteer at the shop, said: “We smashed our target last year and were delighted with the amount we raised.

“With some great new titles on the stall this year we hope people will come along and show their support. A percentage of every book sold will be given directly to the charity, Cancer Research UK.”

Sue Clark, manager of the shop added: “I am very happy to have the Chindi Authors back with us for the Arundel Festival. The authors give their time, manning the stall outside the shop, no matter what the weather, and donate profits from their books to the charity. We hope people will come along, meet the authors and buy their books.”
