West Sussex county councillors are set to meet in Chichester this Friday to examine the local authority’s financial health and service delivery during the first quarter of the year.
The Performance and Finance Scrutiny Committee meeting, scheduled for 10.30 am on 18 September 2026, will take place at County Hall. The session provides a formal opportunity for members to question the council’s progress against its planned budget and service targets for the period between April and June 2026.
Central to the agenda is the Quarter 1 Performance and Resources Report. This document tracks how the council is managing its total budget, which for the 2026-27 financial year exceeds £2.3 billion.
Public attendance and access
The meeting is open to the public, who can attend in person at County Hall, Chichester (PO19 1RQ). For those unable to travel to the administrative headquarters, the proceedings will be broadcast live through the West Sussex County Council webcast portal.
The findings and recommendations from Friday’s session will be used to inform future cabinet decisions regarding resource allocation and service improvements.
