WemsFest is set to launch its 16th season of live music this autumn, bringing an eclectic mix of international performers to venues across Emsworth, Chidham, and Chichester.
The volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation has confirmed a programme featuring artists from Mali, Chile, Spain, and North America. As well as established folk and roots acts, the season marks several milestones for the community group, including the 10th anniversary of its local beer festival.
International highlights and venue changes
One of the season’s major draws is the Chilean group Quimantu, who will perform at Chidham Village Hall (The Old Malthouse) on 24 October 2026. Organisers have noted a date change for this performance, which was originally scheduled for November.
The global theme continues on 31 October 2026 at the same venue, when Malian musician Habib Koite joins Sura Susso for a performance. In Chichester, Spanish group El Pony Pisador are scheduled to play at Room 12 on Wednesday 4 November 2026.
British folk-rock legends Fairport Convention are also part of the autumn line-up, performing at Barton Hall at Horndean Technology College. The show is scheduled for Tuesday 27 October 2026.
Community impact and local milestones
Before the main concert series gets underway, WemsFest will host the 10th Emsworth Beer, Cider & Wine Festival. The event will take place at the Emsworth Community Centre from 25 to 27 September 2026.
As a community-focused organisation, WemsFest reinvests its profits. Money raised through event bars is used to fund musical workshops in local schools.
Ticket information and availability
While the season features a broad range of acts, some have already seen high demand. Tickets for the USA-based band TopHouse, who were scheduled for Westbourne Community Hall on 14 November 2026, are already sold out.
