A new children’s musical that premiered at the Chichester Fringe earlier this summer is set to reach a wider regional audience this month as it transfers to the Guildford Fringe Festival.
The Smallest Sardine of the Seven Seas will perform on Saturday 19 September, marking the latest milestone for the production following its successful public launch in West Sussex. Created by Lily Barkes and Sadie Ward, the show is the debut offering from the newly-formed Sardine Theatre company.
The production first met audiences on 7 June 2026 at the Chichester City Arts Centre as part of the Chichester Fringe. It now moves to Surrey for the final day of Guildford’s 13th annual fringe event, which features 55 shows across 12 different venues.

The musical is designed for families and is recommended for children aged four and over. The story follows the journey of a small sardine through the ocean, brought to life by the creative partnership of Barkes and Ward.
