A stunning bird’s eye view of Chichester is causing a stir on social media. The footage shows breath-taking aerial views of iconic parts of the city such as the cathedral, canal basin and ChichesterFestival Theatre.

It has been viewed thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter and has been met with a positive reaction from residents.

The video has been released by Chichester District Council ahead of the closing date for people to have their say on the draft Chichester Vision.

The consultation is an opportunity for people in Chichester to help shape the future of their city over the next 20 years.

The Chichester Vision aims to enhance the city, attract inward investment and stimulate economic growth. It contains a wealth of ideas that have been put forward by groups and organisations across the city.

The principle aim is to help Chichester capitalise on its heritage and culture while also adapting to better meet the needs of residents, workers, students and visitors.

The consultation will end on Sunday 19 March and people are being encouraged to read the draft Vision and comment

Paper copies are available to read at the main Chichester District Council offices at East Pallant House, Novium Museum, Chichester Library and Chichester City Council.

Councii leader Tony Dignum said: “There’s been a good response so far and we’ve held a number of public exhibitions around the city so that people can find out more,” says Councillor Tony Dignum, Leader of Chichester District Council. “I would urge anyone who hasn’t already had their say to get their comments to us.

“This is a huge partnership project and we want to know whether the ideas that have been contributed so far are on the right track and whether there is anything that has been missed so it is vital that residents, workers and visitors let us know what they think.

“The Vision is about making sure we enrich the lives of residents, workers and visitors. Having a Vision will guide future economic and planning policy for the city. It will also guide how future budgets and resources are allocated, encourage inward investment and unlock other funding opportunities to ensure the economic vitality of Chichester.”
