A charitable chapter! Chindi Authors’ book stall helps raise £480 at Arundel Festival

Chindi Books

Chindi Authors group has raised £480 in aid of Cancer Research UK following a successful 10-day period running a bookstall at the recent Arundel Festival.

The temporary stall outside the Cancer Research shop in Arundel High Street smashed targets for books sold and money raised from the previous year.

Carol Thomas, author of contemporary romance Crazy Over You and children’s book Finding a Friend, once again organised the stall and a rota of Chindi Authors who joined in selling their books and donating money to the charity from every sale.

Carol, who is also a regular volunteer at the Cancer Research shop, said: “With many people revisiting us after buying books last year, or coming to the stall, having heard about us on BBC Sussex radio or in the local papers, we were overwhelmed by the support we received. The event has proved a big success and helps us reach new readers while raising money for this great charity.”

Sue Clark, the manager of the shop, added: “It’s wonderful that so many people stopped by the stall to meet our local authors and to buy books to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK. After the success of last year’s bookstall, we were happy to invite the Chindi Authors back, and we are delighted with the amount they have raised.”
