A 13-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing on Eastbourne seafront on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Grand Parade at approximately 5:10pm on 20 September. The assault is reported to have taken place near the junctions of Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place.
Police Manhunt Underway
Sussex Police confirmed that a group of young people were seen leaving the scene immediately following the incident. Officers are currently working to identify and locate those involved, though no arrests have yet been announced.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being flown to hospital by air ambulance. His injuries are consistent with stabbing and have been described by officials as serious.
In response to the attack, Sussex Police has authorised an increased presence of officers in the Eastbourne area. These patrols are intended to provide community reassurance while detectives continue their enquiries.
Appeal for Witnesses
Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Grand Parade, Elms Avenue, or Cavendish Place on Sunday evening to come forward. Police are specifically interested in reviewing any mobile phone, CCTV, or dashcam footage that may have captured the assault or the group of youths fleeing the area.
A spokesperson for the force urged witnesses to assist the ongoing investigation to help establish the full circumstances of the attack.
